Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the company to NRT for $66 millions. Then, shortly after she left the business. Corcoran was among the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the most significant being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved between jobs throughout Corcoran's youth. At times, her family relied upon deliveries of free food from a local grocer. Corcoran says her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and disrespect. Corcoran struggled with her education and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year before transferring to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
